OUTDOOR or INDOOR PLANT - String of Dolphins

Ahhh whats not to love about this adorable costal inspired succulent! True to its name, String of Dolphins, look closely and its easy to see a pod of jumping dolphins - each leave is the perfect resemblance to these gorgeous marine animals.

A hybrid of String of Pearls the String of Dolphins, botanical name Senecio Peregrinus, is a trailing succulent native to areas of south-west Africa.

String of dolphins are most commonly grown indoors as houseplants, although they can also be grown outdoors. However, they are not frost-tolerant succulents and require warm weather year-round in order to survive outdoors.

Display your String of Dolphins in a bright sunny spot in your home.

As with the majority of succulents String of dolphins leaves can retain water for a long period of time, and as such, they are considered drought-tolerant and do not require regular watering.  Allow the soil to dry thoroughly between waterings and then water well so the whole root system can hydrate. Cut back on watering during the colder months when the plant goes into dormancy.

As the String of Dolphins is a trailing plant they look gorgeous planted into a hanging pot that is suspended from your ceiling. Browse our range of hanging pots here and choose one that is 20 - 25cm in diameter.

* Please note all of out pots and plants are sold separately.
