INDOOR PLANT - Philodendron Birkin in 13cm Pot
Philodendrons were first discovered in Brazil’s rainforests.
The name Philodendron comes from the Greek word phileo, meaning “to love” and dendron meaning “tree”. Philodendrons are a diverse genus made up of nearly 500 species, most commonly found in tropical, humid climates. In nature they are typically large and imposing plants, climbing other plants and growing on other trees.
The Philodendron Birkin was once a rare gorgeous houseplant with dark green leaves, it is now more commonly available however this doesn't diminish its beauty or uniqueness! The beautiful leaves are variegated with a light yellow pinstripe . Birkins don't actually exist in the wild - they came to be because of a rare mutation with the Philodendron Rojo Congo!
They are compact, somewhat slow-growing, and relatively easy to care for, all perfect features in a house-plant!
Bright natural light - with its unique and pretty foliage you will want to place your Birkin in a predominant spot..coffee tables, dining tables, kitchen benches...these are all perfect for the Birkin.
The Birkin will like fairly moist soil. Not too wet and not too dry. Water regularly but allow the soil to partly dry out before watering again. The roots do not like to be left wet so ensure that your pot has good drainage.
WE RECOMMENDED PLANTING IN...
The Birkin isn’t the fastest growing Philodendron so pick a pot you love as you will be able to enjoy it for quite some time. For this sized Birkin we would recommend a pot that is between 17cm - 20cm in diameter. A 17cm Mr Kitly Self-Watering pot is a great easy care option or a medium sized Bower pot would be a charming decorative option.
** Please note all of our plants are hand selected for their quality and individual character. The Birkin you receive may not be the exact one pictured but we promise it will be of the same quality!
