INDOOR PLANT - Peace Lily Blue Moon in 20cm Pot
Looking for a super easy care, lush, pollutant erasing, beautiful house plant?! Then let us introduce you to the lovely Peace Lily!
Peace lilies are tropical species, grown in the ground outdoors only in tropical regions such as Florida or Hawaii. Despite their name, peace lilies are not members of the lily family. The peace lily is a member of the Araceae family of plants, known collectively as aroids.
Peace Lily's filter more indoor pollutants than most other plants, so are great for bedrooms or other frequented rooms. Inside the tropical plant's pores, toxic gases like carbon monoxide and formaldehyde are broken down and neutralized.
The Peace Lily Blue Moon has slightly darker green ribbed leaves and large white flowers with a yellow spadix. It has a strong, upright habit that grows to one metre. A well cared for peace lily will flower 2 - 3 times a year giving you months of beautiful blooms.
Bright natural light. Peace Lily's enjoy warm conditions and 'bright shade' meaning bright conditions without direct sunlight.
Allow the top of the soil to dry out before re-watering. A full wetting of all the soil every 2-3 weeks during the growing season (less in winter) is best to ensure all the roots can access moisture.
If you notice that the plant is constantly dry and looking a tad sad or not absorbing any water, try placing it in a deep tray of water and pour room temperature (not cold) water into the top of the pot. Keep the pot in the tray of water overnight to give it a chance to soak up water from the roots. You can use this trick on all plants that have stopped retaining water or always seem thirsty.
During the summer, water and mist peace lilies frequently because they thrive with higher humidity, such as that found in the rainforest. In winter, reduce watering but never allow the soil to dry out.
WE RECOMMEND PLANTING IN...
A solution for good water management in your home would be potting this Peace Lily into a 30cm Mr Kitly
self-watering pot. Alternatively placing the Lily straight into a (growers pot and all) size medium Alfie
pot would be an attractive option.
** Please note all of our plants are selected for their individual quality. The Peace Lily you receive may not be the exact one pictured but it will be of equal beauty and quality.
