Ahhh the Monstera! Such a classic plant with the image of those divine large green glossy leaves gracing magazine articles, bed linen, drink bottles, wall paper, to name a few! Once you 'meet' a Monstera you will quickly realise why they are OH .SO. POPULAR!! Super rewarding, easy to grow, and resilient make these a fabulous plant for a black thumb or as your first plant!
Monstera's are species of evergreen tropical vines and shrubs that are native to Central America. They are famous for their natural leaf-holes, which as created their nickname of a 'Swiss cheese Plant'. The Monstera's leaf-holes are their to maximise sun rays onto the forest floor. Aren't they clever and generous!
Indoors a Monstera grows a good few meters tall with its leaves coming from aerial roots, which can be used to grow up a coir totem in your home.
A Monstera thrives in bright to medium indirect light.
Allow the top of the soil to dry out before re-watering. A full wetting of all the soil every 2-3 weeks during the growing season (less in winter) is best to ensure all the roots can access moisture.

This 17cm beauty would love a bit more room to stretch its legs. Look for either a ceramic or plastic self watering pot that is at least 21.5cm in diameter.
