Begonias are having a moment! Overlooked in recent years as being old fashioned they are now back in a big way! And it's not hard to see why as begonia's are some of the most beautiful, visually interesting plants you can grow indoors.
There is virtually no end to begonia variety. With over 1,000 species and many more varieties and hybrids, begonias come in countless colours, sizes, and shapes.
Some varieties of begonia houseplants are grown for their flowers while others are grown for their striking foliage.
The sought after Begonia Edinburgh has stunning pink foliage, the large, angel-wing-shaped leaves are deep rosy pink with olive-green veins.
Prefers bright diffused light away from the harsh afternoon summer sun. Enjoys higher humidity.
Keep moist of the warmer months but not waterlogged. Reduce watering in cooler months and allow the top of the soil to ever so slightly dry out in-between watering.
