INDOOR PLANT - Cyanea 'Pink Quill' double flowering in 10cm pot
The Tillandsia Cyanea, which is more commonly known as the Pink Quill, is quite the stunning plant, probably unlike anything you have seen in such a small pot before!
The Pink Quill is part of the Bromeliad family, found in a native tropical rainforest environment, they grow as an epiphytic (meaning on the surface of another plant) on trees but can also be grown in a pot....enter these double flowering beauties!
The Pink Quill produces a display of large colourful pink bracts (a modified leaf) that resemble ink quills - hence their name. The bracts will stick around for a couple of months, plenty of time to enjoy their colourful show. You'll also get to take in the pretty little violet flowers that emerge in the summer; although they only last two or three days.
Pink quill plants love being positioned in a sunny spot. This will prolong the flowering period and keep the plant happy and healthy.
Allow top of soil to dry out before re-watering. Like all house plants water less in the winter months.
WE RECOMMEND PLANTING IN...
Look for a pot a few centimetres larger than its current growers pot, so 11 - 15cm in diameter. If planting directly into the pot we recommend a pot with drainage. This Pink Quill would look stunning planted into one of the colourful pots from the 17cm Mr Kitly range.
** Please note all of our plants are hand selected for the quality and beauty. Your Pink Quill may not be the one pictured but it will be equally as magnificent! Please also note all of your plants and pots are sold separately.
