INDOOR or OUTDOOR PLANT - Cardboard Palm in various sized pots

This is one sic plant, one you don't see in the corner of your friends or Insta followers homes!

The Zamia Furfuracea, or Cardboard Palm, is a very versatile striking plant that is native to the warm, sandy coastal plains of Mexico. It has very thick unusual round leaves that are slightly fuzzy and feel a bit like cardboard when rubbed. The Cardboard Palm is not actually a palm at all -  it is from the ancient cycad family.  All together a low maintenance, fun and architectural plant for your indoor or sheltered outdoor space.

LIGHT
Bright indirect or direct light. To keep the round rosette shape balanced, turn the pot a quarter turn regularly to stop it leaning towards the light.

WATER

Cardboard Palms hold water in their trunk, so can take a bit of neglect when you go on holidays. Generally, allow the top 2cm of soil to dry out in between watering. Water less in the cooler months. Never let it sit in water.

WE RECOMMEND PLANTING IN...

Anything with a drainage hole about 5-7cm's more in diameter than the pot it is sold in.  A Bornean Basket looks amazing with these cool plants!
If planted outside ensure it does not stay damp over winter by using well draining soil - preferably something a little  sandy and gritty.

* Please note plants and pots sold separately. For styling purposes these Cardboard Plants have been pictured with a Plain Bornean Basket and Birch Pot in Fog.
** Please also note all of our gorgeous plants are hand selected for their quality and character! Your plant may not be the exact one pictured but it will be just as amazing.
