INDOOR / OUTDOOR PLANT - Hoya Kerri Variegated in 13cm pot
If we had one dollar for every time a customer has reminisced in-store about their Nan's, Mum's, Uncles etc Hoya they remember growing up then we would be some rich Arizona babes! Hoya's are back in a BIG way! You are sure to fall in love with the adorable heart shaped leaf of this cutie Hoya...plus the fact that it is variegated make this very special, very collectable, Hoya more amazing that what is already is!!
Hoya's belong to the Apocynaceae plant family. There are close to 300 species and they each have phenomenally unique foliage and dazzling flowers when in bloom. Although they produce roots, these are primarily used to secure themselves and in the natural world they can often be seen clinging to tree branches and rocky cliff faces.
Hoya's are a classic because they live forever, grow to be enormous, and create beautiful, porcelain-like fragrant flower clusters. These flower clusters come with plant maturaity (time), great light and appropriate plant feed (we recommend the range of plant care products from We The Wild). Ensure you don't pick them as Hoya's flowers bloom at the same bud node each year, so if you cut them off, you lose that flower node forever.
LIGHT
Hoya's grow in strong filtered light by choice, and though they will grow well in shade, they won’t flower unless given enough light.
As a general rule, a plant in a well-lit, warm spot will require watering every week. In a darker, humid environment watering every few weeks will be enough.
Hoya's generally prefer to dry out completely between each watering and will not be happy having water sitting at their base as this will cause the plant to rot.
WE RECOMMENDED PLANTING IN...
Hoya's prefer to live in a snug pot, replicating how they would be happiest in nature.
For these 13cm Hoya's we recommend a pot with drainage. In our ceramic range a small Finch pot would make a lovely combination. A 17cm Mr Kitly pot would also be a fuss free attractive option.
If you'd like us to do the dirty work for you simply request your plant to be potted into your chosen pot and we'll take care of the rest!
*Note: The plant shown is an indication of how healthy and fabulous all of our hand selected plants are! Your plant may not be the exact plant pictured but it will be of the same quality.
